Company Overview
Purpose: The purpose of The Children’s Guild is to help care for and educate children and their families through the provision of a comprehensive program of education, out-of-home care and mental health services; and to provide opportunities for the study and improvement of emotional problems in children and youth

Mission: To teach children the values and life skills necessary for a successful life, one filled with caring, contribution and commitment, empowering each child with: * The vision to see opportunity within adversity and the value of setting ideals to reach. * The courage to try and the value of accepting obstacles as challenges to meet. * The will to succeed and the value of making the commitment to persevere

Philosophy and Values: Our organization is based on the belief that life is a journey of personal growth and enlightenment. Growth and enlightenment are derived from the continuing struggle and search for meaningful responses to life's challenges. A sense of meaning in one's life grows in proportion to one's ability to move from selfishness to selflessness and from a self-centered to a community-centered individual. There are three questions to answer regarding personal growth toward selflessness. The answers to these questions are articulated as "Wisdom Principles" and comprise the value system underlying The Children's Guild and the character-education curriculum within our programs. The questions are: What are the values needed to access personal growth? Answer: Caring, Contribution and Commitment What is the process through which personal growth occurs? Answer: Struggle, Transformation and Enlightenment What are the skills needed to achieve personal growth? Answer: Vision, Courage and Will

Employment: Our staff members are encouraged to think creatively to engage children and motivate them to learn. The Children’s Guild schools are learning environments that stimulate students in a way that touch the emotions, engage the intellect and excite the senses.
