Providence is calling a Nac Intern-Resident Companion (Variable Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Long Term Care at Providence Mount St. Vincent in Seattle, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

This position assists the unit Nurses and Nursing Assistants in their day-to-day customer service aspects to enhance the overall patient experience at PMW/PMSV. This position seeks to meet resident social and emotional needs through frequent interaction, activities, and non-clinical personal attention. Support of clinical staff with supplemental tasks to alleviates strain on clinical caregivers, allowing their time to be focused on provision of direct patient care.

In this position you will:

  • HOSPITATLITY FUNCTIONS
  • Assists residents with companionship providing psychosocial relief due to extended isolation.
  • Living quarter upkeep: assists staff with bed-making and general room tidiness/maintenance, removal of dirty linen and trash.
  • Answers call lights as needed; relate needs to appropriate care team member.
  • Assists with meal tray delivery and set-up during meal times.
  • Refills ice waters and replace liners.
  • Restocks briefs, towels/wash cloths, toiletries as needed on assigned unit.
  • Coordinates with bath aide to strip/make beds per shower schedule.
  • Assists staff with facilitation of family visits (when applicable per regulation).

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 6 months Experience as an Home Health Aide
  • Home Health Aide or Nursing Assistant.

Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.

HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses.
