Primary Responsibilities

HDR is seeking a Transit Project Manager in the KY/TN/AK area to manage, pursue, and support the design and/or planning of public transportation projects. The individual in this position will lead and support multi-disciplinary transit projects that may include Bus, Bus Rapid Transit, Light Rail, Streetcar, Commuter Rail, or transit support facilities.

  • The individual in this position will be a member of the HDR Transit Market Sector team and will prepare and direct the work of others to complete planning studies, reports, conceptual engineering, and final design documents.
  • Experience or ability to conduct extensive agency coordination, planning and programming, working with multi-discipline teams are a must.
  • The person in this position will support and lead project pursuits; and prepare proposals, scopes, and fees.
  • The successful candidate will have experience working with a variety of disciplines and project types.
  • They will be responsible to coordinate project staffing and workload management on transit projects.
  • They also will implement QC/QA procedures and be responsible for the overall quality of project deliverables.

This person has responsibility for successful project delivery as it relates to schedule and budget. Also, they are responsible for representing client's interests in a competent and professional manner to public officials, citizen groups, and other necessary stakeholders. Responsible for tasks assigned from concept, through to execution and delivery.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Planning, or related field
  • 10 years related or equivalent experience including project management experience
  • 5 years of relevant transit experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Understand the principles of transit planning/design
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering License (PE)
  • PE in Tennessee or ability to obtain within six months
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnel
  • Experience with designing transit facilities such as stations, parks and rides, transit centers, and operations and maintenance facilities.
  • Solid business development skills with history of winning projects as the proposed project manager or task lead
  • Demonstrated ability to relate well to clients
  • Demonstrated presentation skills
