St. Augustine School, a Blue Ribbon, and Top Workplace 2021 award recipient, located in Elkridge, Maryland has an immediate opening for a middle school ELA teacher to complete the current school year and beyond. The teacher is responsible for working with students in grades 6-8. This is an in-person teaching opportunity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop weekly lesson plans consistent with curriculum guidelines that motivate, challenge, and engage students.
• Promote and prioritize reading of diverse fiction and non-fiction text.
• Respond to parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.
• Support the school's culture of respect through effective classroom management techniques.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration.
• Integrate technology where appropriate to enhance instruction.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or English or related field
• A valid Maryland State Certification with endorsements in English or related field
• Knowledge of curriculum, instructional methods/strategies, and curriculum differentiation
• Able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
• Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
