More specifically, the Health and Fitness Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and efficient operations of the fitness center and health and wellness labs and courses. This includes, managing accounts and grants, purchasing supplies and equipment, maintaining records for purchasing, maintaining supplies and equipment inventories, maintenance and repair of equipment and ensuring clean, safe and functioning fitness center and labs/classrooms. Responsibilities also include resource management and standard operational procedures. The Health and Fitness Coordinator formulates and maintains the fitness center's master schedule, and works collaboratively with the Assistant Dean of Health and Wellness. Duties include inventory oversight of supplies and equipment general maintenance and repair of equipment obtaining supply and equipment requests from faculty preparing fitness spaces for classes and open fitness center hours ensuring supplies and equipment are cleaned up and properly stored when labs are finished and other duties as assigned.

What you will do in this role
Coordinate the fitness center operations to include but not limited to, day to day activities, scheduling of rooms and recruitment, training and supervision of temporary staff and work studies. Responsible for fitness center staff scheduling, budget, marketing, and webpage. Create and deliver health/fitness programs and outreach activities.
Contribute to the development, implementation and revision of fitness space utilization policies and procedures. Facilitate department fitness-related events. Ensure the fitness center schedule is input in to 25Live and/or other designated room scheduling system. Communicate effectively with faculty and staff regarding room schedules and changes.
Ensure classes have the supplies and equipment needed for their daily classes. Ensure classes and fitness spaces are clean, neat and safe. Assist instructors with resources regarding equipment and supplies for classes, technical issues with equipment and/or manikins. Obtain supply and equipment requests from course instructors. Perform minor maintenance and repairs on equipment and/or manikins as needed. Oversee the preventative maintenance of equipment and/or manikins.
Oversee inventory control of supplies and equipment, to include low inventory and/or equipment replacement. Ensure compliance with college and school policies and procedures. Research and contact vendors for competitive quotes for supplies and/or equipment. Maintain catalogs and/or databases containing most current equipment and supplies. Communicate with Asset Management regarding inventory and disposal of equipment. File equipment disposal forms. Responsible for maintaining inventory of existing fitness equipment and supplies, maintain library of existing warranties, product manuals, and other relevant materials. Assess equipment and supply inventory on an annual basis and make recommendations for disposal of outdated or dysfunctional items as necessary. Check equipment out to faculty and/or staff, record transaction and ensure items are returned.
Coordinate all preventative maintenance of equipment in the fitness spaces and department locker rooms. Contact equipment/manikin vendors for routine and urgent repairs. Monitor inventory and complete vendor research for replacement of supplies, equipment and/or manikins.
Partner with other college areas to create a campus climate of wellness by providing fitness and wellness-related services and programming to members of the campus community. Meet with School of Health Sciences and School of Continuing Education and Workforce Development faculty to asses supply and equipment needs prior to the beginning of each semester. Follow up with faculty as needed when supply and equipment needs have not been submitted and/or if issues occur in securing needed items.
Oversee the organization of inventory, equipment storage areas and placement of supplies and equipment to maximize the efficiency of use, to include moving and lifting manikins, for use in specific labs. Ensure equipment and/or manikins are properly dismantled and stored upon completion of the class.
Assemble, check and place new fitness equipment and supplies into service. Communicate with faculty and staff about availability of new equipment. Perform office duties such as but not limited to responding to e-mail, answering telephones, filing and creating documents (i.e., excel spreadsheets, letters, etc.) Other duties as assigned.
What you will bring to this position
Associate's degree or higher
Minimum of two years of relevant experience
Advanced knowledge of fitness, exercise equipment, technology and computer software.
Ability to work a flexibility 40 hour weekly schedule to accommodate the needs of the fitness center. Ability to lift, bend, stoop.
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to work independently and prioritize work duties and responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to work collegiately with a culturally diverse group of faculty, staff and students on a regular basis. Supervisory experience required.

Prior work in facility management.
