Role Details
We are looking for a Research Assistant to assist us across various projects in the laboratory. The candidate will be primarily responsible for: 1) regular handling of live mice for the purpose of setting up crosses, weaning litters, collecting tissue samples for genotyping, injecting anaesthetics and other drugs, 2) extracting, dissecting, processing and sectioning inner ear tissues, 3) detecting mRNA and proteins of interest by in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry, 4) preparing buffers and reagents for molecular biology, 5) gel electrophoresis and imaging, 6) acquiring images using epifluorescence and confocal microscopy, 7) assisting in general laboratory maintenance, including setting up of equipments, and organizing reagents and supplies. 8) various types of data analysis, including data annotation to aid in development of machine learning-based algorithms. Offering a broad exposure to standard techniques employed in a molecular neuroscience lab, this position is ideal for individuals seeking to pursue graduate studies in biomedical sciences or medicine.
