Position Summary

Microbiology Floating technologist - Microbiology tech with some generalist skills (serology, basic chem and or heme) Work on the bench as a microbiology medical technologist and float to Clinical Lab as needed to assist with Serology testing and other generalist tasks. Hours generally 10am - 630pm weekdays with weekend and holiday rotation, rotation to other shifts as needed by laboratory. Good Microbiology skills, some generalist skills for floating to core lab. Must have good computer skills, be a team player and be reliable. Utilizes manual, semi manual or automated procedures to perform all assigned laboratory procedures. Uses standard operating procedure to provide accurate results within expected time period. Conducts maintenance on instruments; performs appropriate quality control for assigned testing. Interfaces with laboratory customers in order to report results; frequently exercises independent judgment.

Qualifications

Must have good Microbiology skills, some generalist skills for floating to core lab. Must have good computer skills, be a team player and be reliable. Must have at least 4 years microbiology bench experience.Certification as a Medical Technologist preferred, BS, MT (ASCP) or MLT (ASCP). AMT also acceptable with bachelor's degree in medical technology.
