Primary Responsibilities
HDR is looking for a Transportation Hydraulics Section Manager to lead our South Florida Drainage team. This position may be based in Miami Lakes, Fort Lauderdale, or West Palm Beach. This individual will be responsible for the operations of the HDR's South Florida Drainage team. This will include staff development, hiring, profitability and quality control. The Section Manager will be expected to act as a project manager or technical lead on projects and assure that all work is planned, organized, QC'd through a pro-active project management system. They will also assure that the Drainage group staff has appropriate leadership and supervision on technical assignments, and will assist in the hands-on production of projects. The Section Manager will also assist in marketing planning, proposals and interviews with consultants, FDOT, cities, counties and contractors, and be directly involved with clients in marketing, project production and related issues, which will involve working cooperatively with state marketing team to support marketing efforts.
Required Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
PE required
Minimum of 15 years of related experience required; this should include at least 10 years of transportation hydraulics/drainage design experience as a Drainage Manager or Project Manager, a strong design background, as well as significant FDOT project experience
Preferred Qualifications
MS in Civil Engineering preferred
A proven track record in assisting in the marketing/winning of design bid build and design build work is desired
A proven track record in developing, mentoring, and managing transportation hydraulics/drainage staff is desired
Local candidates are preferred
