Mid to Senior Level Environmental Project Manager

The primary duties of the Mid- to Senior level Environmental Project Manager are to lead and/or be a significant contributor/reviewer of CEQA/NEPA projects as part of HDR's Northern California environmental planning program.

This role will include oversight and direction for preparation, planning, and analysis/review of technical studies, permit applications, CEQA and/or NEPA documents, and similar reports/documents. Work will be accomplished independently and through coordinating or supervising small to large technical and professional teams from local and regional offices. Position may also support regional or national projects in specific areas of technical expertise. PM will be closely involved in public participation and multiple agency coordination.

This candidate must be highly collaborative in all functions and proficient in scope development, budget and schedule tracking. An understanding of the CA regulatory environment and ability to negotiate regulatory strategy is preferred. Strong staff management experience, including staff development, as well as business development proficiency also a plus. Proficient with MS Office. PM will be responsible for project management, including developing and managing budgets, schedules, and quality of products. PM will work closely with broader environmental team members including biologists, cultural specialists, technical specialists, and recreation planners, as well as other non-environmental team members. This position can be based in the Walnut Creek, Sacramento, or Folsom office.
