HDR Engineering is looking for a Substation CADD Technician to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals in our Substation group.
The successful candidate will be a part of a team that provides CADD support for large and small scale substation engineering projects. This is an excellent growth opportunity for a self-directed individual who wants to learn and take on new challenges.
Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Substation CADD Technician I, we'll count on you to:
  • Prepare substation related drawings such as plan and elevation views, control building details, grading plans, foundation details, grounding and conduit plans, control wiring schematic diagrams, and other related drawings.
  • Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
  • Associate or technical school degree, or AutoCAD or MicroStation certification, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 0 - 3 years of experience developing substation CADD layouts/designs from engineering designs.
  • Electrical utility or similar design experience preferred.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; added benefit if proficient in MicroStation or Inroads.
  • Ability to work closely with engineering staff, both local and in remote offices.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills preferred.
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19. This position requires onsite client visits, or, this position will be co-located at the client site. The client requires all contractors/consultants/vendors who work or visit the site be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
