Overview/Risks

6 month R&D Co-op will support characterization studies of the allograft tissue forms. This will mainly involve biological and biochemical studies.

Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting R&D activities by conducting experiments related to product and process development, developing and optimizing assay protocols, and analyzing experimental data. Maintains a safe lab environment by following universal precautions and R&D lab SOPs.

  1. Participate in planning and performing experiments and analyzing results for Research and Development projects.
  2. Prepare tissue samples for biochemical analysis, mechanical testing, and other preclinical in vitro
  3. Execute test protocols to characterize new tissue forms using in vitro
  4. Conduct scientific literature searches to support experimental study design.
  5. Document experimental data in Laboratory Notebook for all experiments and research activities, in compliance with GLP guidelines (will train).
  6. Generate simple statistical summaries and reports of collected data.
  7. Assist technicians with general laboratory duties such as preparing supplies for sterile processing, environmental testing, and maintaining safe laboratory conditions.
Qualifications
  1. Completion of two to three years college credit towards an engineering degree (mechanical, biomedical, materials). Must be currently enrolled in a degree program.
  2. Experience with cell culture, biochemical assays (ELISA, DNA quantification, etc.), mechanical testing and laboratory practices through course work or internship laboratory practices.
  3. Ability to analyze and interpret the experimental data.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and basic statistical analysis.
  5. Good organization ability, strong written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Ability to work within a multifunctional team environment.

  1. Lab familiarity
  2. Anatomy background
