HJF is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the Department of Anatomy, Physiology, and Genetics (APG) located at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, Maryland. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to APG.
Responsible for research, in collaboration with others, on projects involving cellular proteolysis to treat neurodegenerative diseases. Provides laboratory and techinical support to senior technical and professional staff.
Responsibilities:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Technical knowledge of scientific disciplines; knowledge of and skill in tissue culture technique and handling biological hazards and their safe use and disposal.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Associate's degree.
Minimum Experience: 0 to 2 years’ experience.
Physical Capabilities: Handles variety of chemicals; requires long periods of standing.
Work Environment: Laboratory environment.
Background: Eligibility to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC); eligibility to obtain and hold a Public Trust background.
