Are you an engineering grad student seeking an exciting opportunity for summer 2019? This is a great internship for someone to learn and work with developing the latest NAND Flash & SSD technology in a rapidly-evolving market.
The internship will be located at our recently opened Fremont Research Center and reports to the Managing Technologist for the Flash Solutions Group. As a member of the SSD Architecture team, you will:
Develop new architectures and algorithms for data storage using nonvolatile memories such as NAND flash or emerging technologies
Improve the performance, QoS, reliability, endurance or security for NAND flash, SSDs and emerging storage technologies.
Prototype new algorithms in FW and validate benefit on reference hardware platforms.
Write design guides for hardware and firmware implementation.
Develop reference code for firmware implementation.
Utilize C and MATLAB programming expertise.
The typical schedule for this position is Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm. The hours are subject to change with or without notice at the sole discretion of Seagate.
Qualifications
Pursuing PhD or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
Must be enrolled in school fall 2019.
Understanding of storage and compute architectures.
C, Python or MATLAB programming skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in firmware programming is beneficial.
Understanding of flash and memory technology is a plus.
