Position Description
DescriptionMedical oversight on decision making of all cases, including:
Recommendations on whether to evacuate to higher level of care
Recommendations on medically necessary travel requirements (ex. air ambulance vs. commercial)
Recommendations on when to obtain consultation from sub-specialists
Reviewing cases with nursing team
Providing 24/7 on call support
Medical oversight on credentialing program:
Reviews all documentation collected on site surveys of hospitals and air ambulances providers and FrontierMEDEX Physician Advisor team
Client interaction:
Attend prospective client presentations as requested
Attend client renewal meetings
Conference calls with clients on recommendations (case specific or during swine flu outbreak on how to manage their workforce)
Maintains a positive and respectful attitude
Communicates regularly and effectively with supervisor about department issues/concerns
Demonstrates flexible and efficient time managment and ability prioritize workload
Positions in this function are MDs and other clinical professionals who consult on various processes. The function includes roles which manage development and implementation of medical expense management initiatives. Advises leadership on improvement opportunities regarding medical expense programs and clinical activites that impact medical expense.

Qualifications
M.D. degree required, Additional degrees (MPH, MBA desirable)
Current or recent clinical experience required
Experience working internationally preferred
Familiarity with level of care in various geographies preferred
Good written and excellent oral communications skills
Able to organize and prioritize responsibilities
Able to work proactively and independently
Strong judgment
Able to work under pressure and display flexibility
Able to work well with others, conduct himself/herself in a professional manner
