About TurningPoint
TurningPoint is a fast growing 300 person IT services and enabling technologies firm named “Fast 50” by Washington Technology magazine, and named one of the three finalist for “High Tech Firm of the Year” for 2012 by Maryland High Tech Council. TurningPoint Global Solutions is an innovation engine supporting the federal government and commercial customers. For example, one IT-based solution we developed is now used by 14% of the federal government, across multiple agencies. Every TurningPoint customer is a positive reference, largely due to our rigorous approach to ensuring quality in all we deliver. TurningPoint’s system development processes have been assessed at CMMI Maturity Level 3.
A key to TurningPoint’s high historical staff retention rate is the fact that we hire for the long term. We are not in the business of right sizing our organization “up and down” based on current projects; We are a solutions company, and each hire is part of a plan to build capability in one or more solution areas. We look for experienced people whose skills will permit them to contribute in multiple areas. This makes it easy to move people around between projects as customer requirements evolve.
While we strive to keep our compensation package very competitive -- such as by currently paying 100% of the cost of health insurance premium coverage for employees and their families, providing generous 401K matching, and supporting continuing education. By selecting managers with strong leadership and people skills, and by training our managers to bring out the best in our employees, we have created an environment where employees are happy to stay for a long time. We allow them to gravitate toward areas of personal interest and growth. The result is an engaged and loyal work force.
