The Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for monitoring laws and regulatory requirements and providing analysis of the relevance to Patriot Technologies products and services. The regulatory scope includes the maintenance of an Export Management System which meets BIS and NSA regulations, product safety and environment requirements such as but not limited to CE, UL and REACH, and OHSA Safety regulation compliance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Product Regulatory compliance - understands the requirements for saleable products nationally and internationally with respect to safety and environmental regulatory requirements. Gather and assimilate OEM component/product information into a regulatory reference library for Patriot and respond to customer requests for product regulatory information. Interface with customer and regulatory body or testing facility and Patriot technical service during to obtain the regulatory mark during new product introduction and product refreshes.
Export Management - Directs the company’s Export Management System (EMS) including administration and management of a comprehensive export system review, training and restricted party screening. Duties include having knowledge of product export management requirements with respect to the products exported by Patriot for Patriot customers. Direct responsibility for the Export Logistics service provided by Patriot and the compilation of customer and Patriot export reports submitted to the Bureau of Industry Standards (BIS) and the National Security Agency (NSA) semi-annually as required by the customer and/or by regulatory requirements. Understand and help customers obtain their and exemptions if necessary. Be an expert in applying U.S. and international export regulations, including the EAR, US Customs regulations and ITAR, as well as comparable EU and Asian regulations. This expertise must include product classification under the ECCN, CCL, HTS/Schedule B, and USML. Other required experience includes broad knowledge of and experience applying international trade agreements and federal and state transportation regulations and standards.
OSHA Safety Management - Direct responsibility to conduct and oversee workplace safety, safety inspections, safety training and foster awareness of safety issues. Have working knowledge of OSHA and DOT, etc. Compile data and submit annual reports to management and the Department of Labor.
