Description

Responsible for assuring that MAS, Ohio, & Georgia KP regions acquire clinically reliable & cost effective healthcare technology by continuously evaluating technology, consulting w/ national KP planning bodies, developing strategic plans for implementing technology changes, & implementing approved technologies.

Essential Functions:

* Aligns w/ clinicians, KPIT, & KPHC to support KP's Digital Healthcare Mission.
* Strategically evaluates the efficacy of new technologies relating to biomedical equipment devices & develops plans for incorporating best technologies. Develops/designs equipment system requirements in consultation w/ user groups & strategic partners.
* Participates on a variety of national & regional committees w/ senior leadership to assess technology & to make long & short range plans for addressing KP's future technology needs.
* Develops strategic clinical technology plan. Serves as the subject matter expert between IT & Biomedical Engineering & ensures smooth integration between medical devices & IT infrastructure.
* Conducts cost-benefit & cost-effective analysis of medical technologies. Forecasts medical technology budgets on a 5 to 10 year life-cycle horizon.
* Develops projections, assessments, reports, & provides other forms of customized consultation to area directors or other key stakeholders.
* Reviews construction plans/templates for medical equipment & participates in development of uniform standards. Evaluates need for deviations from standard & recommends alternatives.
* Provides technical & environmental requirements for new technology installations. Plans & manages equipment installations. Ensures HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

* 6 years of work experience in a clinical setting required.
* Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering/Clinical Engineering or associated field required.
* Extensive knowledge of organizational development, team management, & medically technical subjects required.
* In-depth knowledge of operational properties & diverse functions of at least two medical technology areas, cross-functional commonalties, & related clinical practices required.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively w/in a multidisciplinary consulting team environment; ability to lead interdisciplinary teams, & to manage complex projects required.
* Proficiency in spreadsheet & database management software required.
* Excellent verbal & written communication & interpersonal skills required.
* Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering/Clinical Engineering or associated field preferred.
* Certification as Clinical Engineer (CE) or Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
