The management system of Vectronix is certified to fulfill the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 standards. In 2008 Vectronix sales exceeded 100 million Swiss Francs (EUR 66 million), and the number of employees rose to 225. Our new four-story building next to the existing headquarters in Heerbrugg, Switzerland was ready for occupation in July 2009.

History:

The heritage of Vectronix goes back to 1921, when Wild Heerbrugg was established as a manufacturer of angle-measuring and other optical
precison instruments in Heerbrugg, Switzerland, where Vectronix is headquartered to this day.

The original company merged with Ernst Leitz Wetzlar from Germany in 1986, and became the Leica Group in 1990.

Seven years later, Leica was split up into Leica Camera, Leica Microsystems and Leica Geosystems. The Defense & Special Products Division of Leica Geosystems became a separate company in 2002 as Leica Vectronix AG and joined the French Sagem Group in early 2003.

The parent company Sagem merged in May 2005 with the aero-engine manufacturer Snecma to form the SAFRAN Group. Vectronix is part of the Optronics and Defence Division of Sagem.

Working at Vectronix:

We cultivate an informal working climate which is characterized by the self-responsibility of each team member. This positive working climate and our friendly, cooperative work relationships are supported by the Employee Council's right in involvement, say and decision.

Flexible work times

Our work time model is based on the Collective Work Agreement of the Swiss Machine Industry and offers employees and company likewise high flexibility in modeling their work times. We work 40 hours per week. Taking into account customer requirements and team work, our employees arrange their work times independently.

According to your age, we offer you 5 to 6 weeks vacation per year; in addition there are a number of bridge-over days that must, however, be compensated individually. If you plan a long-term project, as for example further education or a world trip, you may "save" overtime to take a sabbatical at a later point.

Training and further education

Each and every one is responsible for her or his own development.
We see ourselves as partners in our employees' further development by encouraging professional education. Employee education starts on the job and is complemented by external seminars and – if required – in extensive further education. Out of a predefined annual budget, we support many of our employees.

Apprenticeships

As a member of the "Lernzentren LfW", the association Apprentices for the Economy, we enable the creation and preservation of numerous high-quality apprenticeships.

Salary

We all are directly involved in the company's accomplishment. On top of our salaries, we get a participation based on Vectronix's success.
